This lady rocks! Bach’s organ music played by l’enfant terrible de l’orgue, Rosalinde Haas. These 1970 live concert “Mitschnitte” have never before been published. We intentionally left the recordings raw and unedited: This CD wants to be a portrait of true musicianship, in contrast to today’s industry stale and sterile industry of classical music recordings. Our motto is Theolonius Monk’s notion of “There is no such thing as a wrong note” (it all depends what you do with it). To give an impression of the the artist’s workbench we have included two different takes of Bach’s Passacaglia in C minor (recorded in the 1970s), and contrasted it with two different takes of Bach’s Goldberg Variation No. 4, played on harpsichord (recorded in 2008). We conclude with B-A-C-H’s signature, an excerpt from Contrapunctus XIX, Kunst der Fuge (recorded in 2007).
